As of
coming into force of the Free Trade-Industrial Zones Act, the
Organization for Administration of Free Zones is the successor
of the other governmental organizations, administrations,
ministries etc, with regard to national resources, lands and
real estate within the boundaries of the zone. Sale and
leasing of lands to the Iranians is permitted, but as far as
foreign nationals are concerned, only leasing is permitted. In
other words, foreign nationals and companies whose capital
wholly or partially is owned by foreigners, may not own lands
in any part of Iran.
According
to the “Bylaw on the Use of Land and Other National Resources
in the FTIZ”, any use of land is permitted within the
framework of the approved master plan and the internal
regulations of the Authority (namely the Organization for
Administration of FTIZ).
Assignment of contracts for the sale or lease of land to
others is authorized, upon obtaining permit from the said
authority.
